Michigan Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics

1651 S. Milford Rd. # 101
Highland , MI

Founded by Karin Downes, Michigan Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics offers training in the application of permanent cosmetic procedures. Permanent cosmetic procedures, also known as Intradermal Pigmentation, is the state-of-the-art technique of applying of natural pigments into the dermal layer of skin. The technique is used for a variety of cosmetic enhancements, such as permanent eyebrows, eye liner, lip liner/color, scar camouflage, areola restoration, hairline enhancement, and to cover up uneven skin abnormalities.

Each class combines theory training with hands-on experience to give students the ability to advance to the next level of training in the field. Only five students are in each theory class with a one-on-one teacher-student hands-on training portion. With the limited class size, classes are scheduled by appointment and a non-refundable, pre-payment of tuition is necessary to reserve an individual's class space. The course consists of 50 hours of classroom hands-on application theory and 20 hours of pre-class home study. A 3-day, 70-hour basic course can be followed by a 3-day, intermediate course. Private training and a skin needling course are also offered through the school.

Students receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course which will allows students to be insured and gain membership to organizations such as the AAM or the SPCP. To pass the course, students must successfully perform at least two eyeliner, two eyebrow and two lipliner procedures as well as pass the exam by 75%.
