Mid-Continent University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, conferring associate and bachelor's degrees, including a Bachelor of Ministry degree through programs in the Baptist college of Arts and Sciences. The seven divisions at the Baptist College of Arts and Sciences include Mathematics; Language and General Studies; Social Studies; Teacher Education; business Management; and Behavioral Studies.

Mid-Continent University students interested in careers in ministry can pursue programs at the university's Dr. James W. Cecil Baptist College of the Bible. The Baptist College of the Bible prepares Christ-centered leaders to presume roles in the church by educating students with the values, knowledge, and skills needed to fulfill their future roles in Ministry. The Baptist College offers majors and minors in the Biblical Studies, Church Leadership Development, and Evangelism and Missions.

The Ministerial Student Association provides fellowship, support, and skill enhancement to those planning careers in ministry.
