technical Center offers an applied method of instruction to students in order to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge for future careers in a variety of technical fields. The curriculum and instruction focus on applied and problem-based learning projects organized through teams; a
construction team, a mechanical team, a service team, and a
technology team. The team approach works so that students learn the life and work skills to support common career goals. Educational experiences are focused on technological resources and designed to reinforce the career skills needed in communication, math, and
Science.
MMTC is accredited by the
New England Association of Schools & Colleges and is part of Skills USA, a national organization that serves
high school and college students and professional members who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations.
Mid-Maine Technical Center offers applied technology course and serves four high schools in the mid-Maine area, Waterville, Winslow, Lawrence, Messalonskee, and Averill High Schools (grades 9-12). Students also come from area private schools and adult education programs. Students attend MMTC in the morning and afternoon for approximately two and one-half hours a day and earn three credits upon completion of a course. After graduation, students are encouraged to pursue careers and further educational opportunities.
