Mid Michigan community college became Michigan's 25th Community College nearly 40 years ago. Since it opened its doors in 1968, Mid Michigan Community College has experienced constant growth, expanding its facilities, services, and staff to accommodate the needs of all students and community members interested in post-secondary education. Mid Michigan Community College remains focused on its goal of providing educational and community leadership for the development of human ability. Located in the rural environment of northern Michigan, the 560-acre main campus of Mid Michigan Community College is an ideal place for students to learn, work, and play. Eco-friendly and environmentally conscious, Mid Michigan community college has allocated 20 acres of its entire campus for college facilities, leaving the remainder of the property in its natural state. Noted for its four-season outdoor sports, the area surrounding Mid Michigan Community College has thousands of acres of public lands. Lakes, rivers, golf courses, tow ski hills, and hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails are within close proximity to the MMCC campus and enhance the overall educational experience of MMCC students.
