Minneapolis College of Art and Design has over a century of cutting edge art. The college was established in 1886 by a group of art lovers who wanted Minneapolis to be as culturally sophisticated as other cities in the United States.

Minneapolis College of Art and Design offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 14 areas of study including advertising, animation, comic art, drawing, filmmaking, fine arts studio, furniture design, Graphic Design, illustration, painting, photography, print paper book, sculpture, and web and multimedia environments. The Bachelor of Science degree blends business and creativity with specializations in branding, marketing and public relations, print and web communications, entrepreneurship and project management, and visualization and virtual experience. Bachelor of Science students work with real clients on important projects for their businesses and organizations.

A Master of Fine Arts is available in Visual Studies. This program provides a mentor-based approach, based on a European model of advanced study. There is open studio work with feedback and critiques from visiting artists.
