online or distance education mediums. The school also provides personal counseling services, new student orientation workshops, financial aid advisement, peer-to-peer tutoring, career exploration courses, and study skills workshops.
In addition to in-class activity, Minnesota Community Technical College also offers its students a host of out-of-class activities including art exhibits, concerts, student performances, cultural events, and social activities. Events for 2007 included a school-sponsored spring picnic, whiffle ball tournaments, iChat conferences with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, a performance of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," and karaoke open mic nights. The school also supports seven varsity sports teams, an intramural sports program, a student-run newspaper, and 24 student-led organizations that range from social clubs to volunteer groups to professional organizations.
