At the Modern Institute of Reflexology's offices in Colorado, a team of trained and professional reflexologists (who are members of a variety of professional organizations) perform reflexology services and treat clients. The institute was founded by Clement Wittman, and Zachary Brinkerhoff assumed the presidency of the institute in 1989.
All courses at the Modern Institute of Reflexology can be completed at a student's own pace and in their own home. The
home study package includes all lesson plans and textbooks, insurance and tutoring, as well as a variety of tools and accessories (including a reflexology chair) that students can use as they practice and after they graduate. Lessons cover the history of reflexology, body systems, organs, disease, case histories, and professional practice and ethical guidelines. The Modern Institute of Reflexology also offers a number of other
certificate programs, including lay minister, home study graduate, freelancer experiential, and advanced certificates.
