Montana Tech was founded in 1900 and today,

Montana Tech offers more than 40 academic programs conferring associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Montana university has an undergraduate research program to give motivated undergraduates the opportunity to participate in research activities at Montana Tech to further their career and educational goals. Students in the program gain hands-on research experience, valuable skills, $1,000 stipend, and travel awards to present their research at conferences, including the National Undergraduate Research Conference, Sigma Xi Annual Conference, and the Montana
Academy of Sciences Annual Meeting.

The average employment placement rate of Montana Tech graduates has been more than 96 percent within the last 10 years. Engineering students are placed 100 percent of the time with a starting salary of $50,000 and frequent signing bonuses.
Students can participate in the many activities on campus by joining student clubs and organizations or take advantage of the recreation in the city. The campus is located between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks and minutes away from downhill and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, rock climbing, and an assortment of other activities.
