The University of Montana is a professional technical school located in Butte, Montana. The school has two campuses, both in Butte, named the North Campus on West Park Street and the South Campus on Basin Creek Road. Founded in 1900 as the Montana School of Mines, the school focused primarily on
engineering and mining degrees. The school officially became affiliated with the Montana University System when it was resurrected in 1994 and the name was finally changed to Montana Tech - The University of Montana.
