The beautiful Germantown Campus of Montgomery College is located just 30 miles north of Washington, D.C. Montgomery College offers more than 130 degree, diploma, certificate, and letters of recognition programs, including the associate of arts, associate of science, associate of applied science, associate of arts in teaching, and associate of fine arts degrees. Courses are offered in an array of disciplines in the arts, humanities, technology, health sciences, education, and biotechnology.

Students attend for a variety of reasons. Students who plan to continue their education and transfer in a specific discipline can take courses that provide the first two years of a four-year degree program. For students who wish to pursue a four-year degree but are undecided about their field of study, there are transfer programs in liberal arts and sciences and general studies. Students who have specific technical or semiprofessional career interests and wish to enter the workforce upon graduation can complete two years of study in a wide range of occupational programs. Montgomery College - Germantown also offers non-degree certificates to students who wish to develop technical skills and Expertise in a specific area in one year of full-time study.

Montgomery College has three campuses - Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring. The Germantown Campus is Montgomery College's newest campus and serves more than 6,000 full- and part-time day, evening, and weekend students. In addition, Montgomery College offers workforce and noncredit programs in Wheaton and Gaithersburg, as well as online options for distance learners.

Montgomery College - Germantown offers a variety of intercollegiate and intramural sports and belongs to the National junior college Athletic Association (NJCAA), Region XX, and the Maryland Junior College Athletic Association (JUCO). The Germantown Gryphons compete in varsity baseball, basketball, and tennis, as well as a number of intramural sports.

Montgomery College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association.
