Founded in 1881 by the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Morris Brown College is a private, coeducational, liberal arts college devoted to the education of African-American young men and women. They offer four-year Bachelor's degrees in two programs; Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology (for traditional students) and Organizational Management and Leadership.

The school maintains a focus on providing teaching, research, and public service in the arts, humanities, education, professional programs, social sciences, and natural sciences in a Christian environment. Morris Brown seeks to provide a college-level education for both traditional applicants and those who might not otherwise receive the opportunity for a four-year baccaulaureate program. Historically, it has offered education to students from low socioeconomic backgrounds through its devotion to the Church.

Morris Brown offers a general education program which provides the general core of courses for all majors. This foundation prepares students for a workforce by teaching them communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills through the range of intellectual disciplines of the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics. The school also offers a professional and job oriented program in Management Entrepreneurship and Technology Program (MET) which focuses on students' abilities to work in various management and business environments. Also offered is the Organizational Management and Leadership Program which is designed for working professionals who have either completed an associate degree or have partially completed a Bachelor's degree. This program is accelerated so that individuals can complete their degree in 18-24 months.
