Mount Allison is a primarily undergraduate
liberal arts university with a compact scholarly community. Students learn in a nurturing environment, with easy access to professors, mentors and facilities. The university has the largest number of Rhodes Scholars, per capita, in the British Commonwealth, and one of the largest endowments, per capita, among universities in
canada.

Students at Mount Allison enter not only a university but a community and campus rich in history and innovation. In 1875, Mount Allison was the first university in the British Empire to confer a Bachelor's degree to a woman and helped pave the way for women's access to Canadian universities. Its Owens Art Gallery is Canada's oldest university art gallery and has a permanent collection of more than 3,000 works, including paintings and sketches by the Group of Seven.
Mount Allison has a rich culture, with lectures, a Shakespeare Festival, and other special events year round. MAU is a university experience that enriches the whole student, not only academically, but socially and culturally as well.

Founded in 1839, Mount Allison has a rich history but has always looked toward the future. It was one of the first universities in the country to introduce a completely wireless campus.
Undergraduate students can choose from five degrees -- Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of fine arts, Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Music. The university also offers some postgraduate degrees in science.
The campus is historically beautiful, with amenities such as Mount Allison's Windsor Theatre, Brunton Auditorium and Convocation Hall -- one of the largest concert halls east of Montreal.
