Mount Marty is a private, Catholic, Benedictine co-educational liberal arts college. The college emphasizes the development of the students' intellectual, professional, and personal skills. Mount Marty provides professional preparation by connecting classroom studies with real world work through practicums and internships. The college's main campus is Yankton and there are two other South Dakota campuses in Watertown and Sioux Falls.

Mount Marty College students pursue educational programs based on a foundation of liberal arts and Catholic Benedict Heritage that culminates in faith-based learning. Mount Marty offers more than 20 undergraduate majors, 10 pre-professional programs, and three graduate programs in the areas of business and social sciences, humanities, nursing, teacher education, natural sciences and interdisciplinary studies. Minors at Mount Marty College's Yankton campus include accounting, art, biology, business administration, chemistry, computer information systems, computer science, criminal justice, English, French, history, human service, political science, psychology, religious studies, sociology, Spanish, special education, and speech and theater.
