Mount Marty is a private, Catholic, Benedictine co-educational liberal arts college. The college emphasizes the development of the students' intellectual, professional, and personal skills. Mount Marty provides professional preparation by connecting classroom studies with real world work through practicums and internships. The college's main campus is Yankton and there are two other South Dakota campuses in Watertown and Sioux Falls.

In a recent issue of U.S. News & World Report, Mount Marty College was ranked third among top-tiered master's level colleges and universities in the Midwest. The college is also known as a best value and prestiged for its graduation and retention rate.

Mount Marty College has more than 10,000 alumni, who are distinguished in Fortune 500 companies, education, health care, medicine, literature, and law. Some alumni employers include 3M, Citibank, Gateway, Honeywell International, Los Alamos National Lab, Make a Wish Foundation, Mayo Clinic, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Premiere Psychiatric Group LLC, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NASA, and Walt Disney World Resort. Mount Marty's job placement rate is 94 percent.

The college enrolls more than 1,100 students representing 24 states and five foreign countries. The Watertown campus enrolls 300 students and the graduate programs enroll almost 100 students per year.

Mount Marty's main campus in Yankton spans 80 acres, with two residence halls, a chapel, student center, performing arts auditorium, athletic arena, Scholastica Learning Center and the Cyber Café.

The college has a 14 to 1 student-faculty ratio with an average class size of 25.

All full-time students are provided laptops, which can be used on the college's wireless network, with easy access to computer applications, the Internet, and their online assignments.

There are more than 50 students clubs and organizations, which include performing arts groups, theater, campus ministry, intramural, honor societies, academic clubs, student newspaper, student government and campus programming.

Last year, Mount Marty gave more than $8 million dollars in financial assistance through scholarships, grants, loans, and employment.

The college is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church and the Benedictine Community of Sacred Heart Monastery is a sponsoring agent of the college.
