Mildun Training Center of Illinois offers an intensive 10-week course in a variety of medical-related fields. Coursework covers Phlebotomy, Medical Billing, EKG, and Dental Assisting. The program seeks to offers a way to enter the healthcare field and enjoy the career benefits of medical training without the cost and commitment that go along with attending a medical school. The school is certified by the Illinois State Board of education.

In ten weeks, students learn how to take vital signs, how to do EKG, how to draw blood using different techniques, and how to integrate themselves into healthcare organizations.

Students learn the basics of the financial aspects of healthcare, which includes diagnostic coding and procedural coding. Students gain basic knowledge of medical terminology and terms used in anatomy, physiology, mental health, and common diseases.

Financial aid is available for eligible students. The school helps with job development by providing help with resumes and employment as well as internships throughout medical offices and hospitals in Chicago.

The study of Phlebotomy is the clinical part of study involving different color tubing and different phlebotomy methods used to obtain blood specimens for various blood tests ordered by physicians for diagnostic testing.

Medical Billing involves the administrative part of the profession to give students working knowledge and hands on experience in verifying benefits, filing claims, posting payments, and filing appeals with the insurance companies.

The Dental Assistant program focuses on actual demonstration and practice of instrumentation and operation of the dental equipment. Students gain skills at taking x-rays and impressions as well as performing coronal polish, restorative, oral surgery, and orthodontic procedures.

Students in the dental assistant program can find careers as Receptionists, Chairside Assistants, Hygiene Instructors, Laboratory Assistant, Dental Sales Representative and Dental Treatment Coordinator.
