Founded in 1929, Muscatine community college is a 1,200+ student campus home to both liberal arts transfer degree programs and professional certificate programs of study. The school's most recent addition, the 8,000 square foot Muscatine Industrial Training Center, provides the latest in manufacturing training for current and future employees. The $1.2 million Center is currently home to the school's welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer numeric control courses and provides tech-oriented training workshops, certificate programs, and associate degree programs of study to Muscatine Community College students. Thanks to partnerships with local companies including Monstanto, Carver Pump, Grain Processing Corp., and HJ Heinz, the Center is stocked with state-of-the-art equipment, allowing students to learn their trade on the very machines they'll be using in the real world.

As a member of the Muscatine Learning Consortium -- a partnership of 10 local companies and the Eastern Iowa Community College District designed to address the needs of the surrounding business community -- Muscatine Community College can offer basic skills workshops, customized business training programs, professional re-licensure courses for working adults. The partnership not only trains future employees domestically, it also operates programs in India, South Africa, and the Ukraine and works to bring internationally-renowned artists and leaders to Muscatine's campus.

Muscatine Community College is also a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Iowa Junior College Athletic Association. The campus boasts eight varsity athletic teams as well as a campus-wide intramural sports program. Muscatine is also home to 16 student organizations including a student senate, student ambassadors club, and a chapter of the international honors fraternity for two-year college students, Phi Theta Kappa. Muscatine Community College also operates personal enrichment courses for older adult learners and summer enrichment camps for local high school students.
