Muskingum
college was founded in 1837, as a community of learners who learn from and with other people. Muskingum strives to educate the whole person intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically. The college is located in the village of New Concord, on 225 rolling acres, an hour from Columbus and two hours from Pittsburgh.
Muskingum College confers bachelor's and master's degrees and students have a choice of more than 40 academic majors, including 13 interdisciplinary majors, nine pre-professional programs, and 16 international exchange study programs in 11 countries.

Muskingum College enrolls 1,700 undergraduate students with 1,550 full-time students. In 2006, there were 419 new first-year students and 75 new transfer students. The student body represents 26 states and 16 foreign countries.
Muskingum's student-faculty ratio is 15 to 1. Ninety-one percent of the full-time faculty holds doctorate or terminal degrees in their respective fields. All classes are taught by members of the faculty.

Muskingum College is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church and is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Ohio Department of education and the National Association of Schools of Music.
The campus library has more than 200,000 volumes, over 600 periodical subscriptions, 30,000 bound periodicals, 140,000 microforms, and more than 100 online databases. The library is also a member of OPAL and OhioLINK library consortia.
Students have unlimited Internet and email access in all residence rooms.
Sixty-five percent of entering students graduate and 80 percent of first-year students return for the second year. Ninety-five percent of graduates are employed or enrolled in a graduate program within five months of graduation. More than 40 percent of graduates pursue an advanced degree within five years of graduation.
Muskingum students have the choice of six residence halls, townhouses, apartment unit, sorority suites, fraternity houses and 17 special program houses to accommodate the on-campus living needs.
Muskingum College has more than 90 clubs and organizations, including musical organizations, 13 academic honoraries, six sororities and five fraternities.
The college's athletic teams compete in NCAA Division III and the college is a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference. Intercollegiate sports include men's basketball, baseball, cross country, football, golf, indoor/outdoor track, soccer, tennis, and wrestling. Women's sports include basketball, cross country, golf, indoor/outdoor track, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Students can also participate in 15 intramural sports and activities.
Ninety percent of undergraduate student receive academic, merit or need-based financial assistance.
Performance scholarships are available for undergraduate day students in art, forensics, journalism, music, and theater.
