The Namaset Institute for Holistic Studies is a Maine-based Professional School dedicated to training people interested in holistic studies and self-awareness. A holistic learning community, the Namaset Institute for Holistic Studies is dedicated to "providing inspiring informative, empowering, participatory and experiential self-actualizing educational programs."

The word Namaset is a traditional greeting in the East that lets the person know you revere the person you are greeting. The programs at the Namaset Institute for Holistic Studies seeks to reconnect the student with the natural world, particularly in dealing with the natural world of health. There are three schools at the Namaset Institute for Holistic Studies: the Namaset School of Holistic Massage; the Namaset School of Yoga and the Namaset School of Shiatsu.

In the Namaset School of Massage, students can enroll in the holistic massage therapy program. This 600-hour program is a 10-month course and graduates receive a diploma and they also possess the hours necessary to take the licensure exam in Maine, as well as the national certification exam. Students enrolled in this program will take a variety of courses in the following areas: bodywork; human sciences; adjunct therapies; professional development and personal growth and healing.

In the Namaset School of Yoga, students have the opportunity to study either yoga instruction or yoga therapist training. Graduates of the 200-hour yoga instruction program receive a certificate upon completion. Students in the yoga instruction program study: techniques training and practice; teaching methodology; anatomy and physiology; yoga philosophy and lifestyle and ethics. Students must also complete a community service project and a practicum. The yoga therapist training is a certification course requiring 300-500 hours of study. The program is a continuation of the instruction program. Graduates will receive a certificate and a certified yoga massage practitioner is certified to practice one on one with individuals.

Students interested in the Namaset School of Shiatsu can take the foundational training and then go on to take the advanced training. The foundational training is for certified body workers and is comprised of 300 hours of study. The advanced training is 600 hours. Upon completion of the advanced training, graduates are certified shiatsu practitioners.
