National Redesign Institute

Smithville, MO 64089

The National Redesign Institute offers training and certification to professionals in interior design industries such as interior redesign, home staging and decorating. Courses cover the basic design principles, service marketing, creating a start-up company and everything in between. The NRI was founded by Victoria Palmer, a notable decorator, certified color consultant, licensed marketing coach, speaker and instructor. Palmer owns a redesign business as well as a traditional design firm. NRI's team of instructors combine professional experience with quality presentation and teaching abilities.

NRI has on-site classes and home study programs in interior redesign and staging, home staging and interior decorating. The five-day redesign and staging class leads to certification and is designed with both novices with no formal design backgrounds and seasoned professionals in mind. The class includes lots of hands-on work. A review of the elements of design, lessons of decorating, brand development, presentation skills, legalities and start up procedures are among the topics covered during the five-day course. Students learn how to work with color decks and fabrics, how to properly hang artwork and how to accessorize. Home staging is a valuable skill for home sellers and real estate professionals looking to get the most value for a home. By completing NRI's two-and-a-half-day staging program, participants learn staging techniques for different scenarios, marketing, decorating, how to understand clients and real estate professionals, and more.

Not everyone can travel to attend National Redesign Institute courses, so NRI offers comprehensive study-at-home options for each of its three programs. Home study students receive a training manual by e-mail in PDF format, a shipment of classroom supplies, assignments, one-on-one teleconference for personal attention, a certificate through the National Redesign Institute and a listing in the NRI professional directory. Optional e-books are also available to students to supplement studies.
