Nevada Career Institute prepares students for jobs in the medical field, with two locations in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NCI-East Las Vegas campus offers programs of study for surgical technologists, medical assistants, medical office specialists and massage therapists. The NCI-West Las Vegas campus offers training for medical assistants, medical office specialists and massage therapists.

Nevada Career Institute's admissions process is unique: prospective students get one-on-one attention allowing admissions representatives to help them access their educational expectations and career goals and to chart a viable career path. Prospective students also have the opportunity to tour the school, including its classrooms and labs. NCI students have access to a career services department that can help them prepare to enter the marketplace by helping them refine resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills and professional dress.

Quick Facts

  • The surgical technologist program offered at NCI-East Las Vegas trains students to help surgeons in the operating room. They learn proper dress for surgery, how to position patients for procedures, basic anatomy, operating room technology and surgical procedures. Students take place in practice surgeries before completing a four-month externship in a hospital operating room.

  • Nevada Career Institute is owned and operated by Norfolk-based Landmark Education Services, Inc., which operates career schools across the country and is a subsidiary of Landmark Communications, Inc.

  • The medical assistant program prepares graduates for entry level positions in medical facilities, performing administrative and clinical duties. The program culminates with a four-month externship in a medical office or clinic.

  • NCI's massage therapy program includes lectures, instruction in Swedish massage techniques and lessons on pathology, anatomy, physiology and kinesiology. After completing the program, graduates are ready to sit for the national certification exam.
