The New Jersey Council of County Colleges enables New Jersey's 19 community colleges to meet their primary mission: providing high quality educational, occupational, and service programs at affordable prices to meet the local and statewide needs of New Jersey residents. Because of the New Jersey Council of County Colleges' commitment to excellence, the community colleges of New Jersey are able to help over 350,000 students each year reach their goals.

The New Jersey Council of County Colleges oversees the 19 conveniently located community colleges throughout the state where more than 1,700 credit, non-credit, and professional certification programs are available to students. But besides being easily accessible to students, the 19 community colleges are more affordable than ever. The NJ STARS program is a new scholarship program offered exclusively to New Jersey residents that covers the entire cost of tuition and fees at the 19 community colleges in New Jersey. All of New Jersey's community colleges, which are under the direction of the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, provide the NJ STARS opportunity to students who graduated in the top 20 percent of their high school class.

Under the direction of the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, the 19 community colleges in New Jersey offer a variety of exciting programs to their students. From an Alternate Route Certification program that addresses the shortage of teacher candidates in New Jersey to the 33-hour Entrepreneur certificate program for budding entrepreneurs and small business owners to the 12th Grade Initiative that allows seniors to take college-level courses while still in high school, the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, provides ample opportunities for the residents of New Jersey to succeed in life.
