The New Orleans Baptist Theological seminary, located in New Orleans' Garden District, is an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention and has been known since its 1917 inception as "The School of Providence and Prayer."

One of the largest seminaries in the world, NOBTS is a fully accredited institution offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs, as well as certificates and diplomas. The New Orleans seminary works to educate students with doctrinal integrity, to fulfill the mission of the Southern Baptist Convention through ministries, and to promote excellence and spiritual vitality both personally and academically.

In order to provide accessible and affordable theological education to as many students as possible, NOBTS offers extension center campuses throughout the Southeastern U.S. in other Louisiana cities as well as in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.

Flexible scheduling is also an option for New Orleans Seminary students, with courses offered throughout the week, on weekends, at night, online, and through on-week academic workshops.

The NOBTS graduate curriculum includes the following competencies: biblical exposition, Christian theological heritage, disciple making, interpersonal skills, servant leadership, spiritual and character formation, and worship leadership.
