Nicolet Area Technical College is a professional technical school located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The college has two campuses, the main campus in Rhinelander and a satellite location at the Lakeland Campus in Minocqua. Nicolet Area Technical College was founded in 1967 and it serves all of the Nicolet school district. The area encompasses more than 83,000 people and 4,000 square miles. The main campus of Nicolet Area Technical College is located on a 280-acre campus on Lake Julia. The campus has six buildings and the school offers over 30 programs of study. Nicolet Area Technical College awards one and two year associate degree programs.

More than 1,600 students each semester enrolls in one of the programs at Nicolet Area Technical College and another 10,000 students enroll in community education courses, trade extension and apprenticeship programs. The programs at Nicolet Area Technical College include: accounting; administrative assistant; automotive technician; barber/Cosmetology; building trades/carpentry; business management; criminal justice/law enforcement; Culinary Arts; early childhood education; emergency medical technician; fire protection technician; food service production; graphic design; individualized technical studies; industrial electronics; information technology; and surveying technician; marketing; medical assistant; nursing; nursing assistant; office assistant; Pharmacy Technician; radiography; small engine maintenance; surgical technologist; and welding technician. Nicolet Area Technical College has transfer agreements with several Wisconsin colleges for students who want to continue their education and earn a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Nicolet Area Technical College advisers can assist students in choosing the appropriate program if students plan on transferring to a school of higher learning after graduating from Nicolet Area Technical College.

Prospective students wishing to enroll at Nicolet Area Technical College must have a high school diploma or GED; must complete a Compass exam, or have SAT or ACT exam scores. Students who have attended other colleges or universities must also provide a transcript from those schools. Students who are completing their high school education may enroll concurrently at the school. Students who need to complete their high school education may enroll in GED preparation classes at Nicolet Area Technical College.
