The Nikon School of Photography offers several courses that train students to produce high-quality, artistic photographic images. Beginning and Advanced classes are offered, in addition to a course in underwater photography. All classes are taught by accomplished instructors with decades of experience. Faculty members have been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, covered the Gulf War for leading news agencies and photographed World Cup Soccer games. The school is affiliated with the Nikon Corp., which manufacturers a range of cameras and other imaging products.

The Nikon School of Photography offers two one-day, seminar-style courses that cover basic and advanced techniques in digital photography. Because lecture is the primary mode of instruction, no camera or equipment is required to enroll in either course. Introduction to Digital SLR Photography is a course for new camera owners, or for those who are considering purchasing a digital SLR camera, and covers terminology and basic techniques. Nikon students will learn about the fundamentals of photography, including basic camera settings, lenses, how to get good shots, and how to download, edit and store photographs. Next steps in digital photography: streamlined workflow techniques is a course designed for the more advanced student. This class covers industry trends and advances in technology. Nikon students will also learn how to use software to help them express their creativity and simplify the digital workflow process. Editing, archiving, color profiling and printing are all covered in this course at Nikon.

The Nikon School of Photography also offers several courses in underwater photography. These classes are held on the island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles. The Nikon School of Underwater Photography Program has been training students for more than two decades, combining a unique vacation with a one-of-a-kind educational experience. The program is open to students of all levels and abilities, from beginners to experienced underwater photographers. Topics covered include equipment care and maintenance, framing and focusing techniques, accessory strobes and slaves, artificial light exposure and subject selection. Courses last six days, and daily dives into dramatic Caribbean coral reefs provide the ideal setting for exploring the art of underwater photography.
