This
aviation school in Tennessee has two focused certification programs as well as an
associate degree program in
aviation technology and maintenance. The aviation maintenance technician program leading to a certification provides state of the art, technologically advanced training for future aviation technologists. The program offers three concentrations: general, airframe, and power plant aviation. The program, which requires nearly 2,000 hours of study, is structured to provide top quality training in the classroom and in the air. After completion, students may opt to continue on with the more specified airframe aviation or power plant aviation programs, each requiring an addition 700-plus hours. The majority of the curriculum is spent as hands-on instruction.
The airframe and power certification program is a shortened training program similar to the aviation maintenance technician program and is designed very similar. The advanced programs are designed for new students that have completed the maintenance technician program as well as professionals wishing to advance their credentials.
Both certification programs are applicable to the Associate in Applied Science degree program, a two-year program that provides a generalized
education through courses and hands-on training in aviation, maintenance, operations, and air traffic control. Additionally, the North Central Institute offers radiotelephone courses as continuing education for working professionals in the aviation field.
North Central Institute strives to provide the best possible training in the most convenient setting. Courses in all programs are offered on a part time basis at night, enabling working professionals the opportunity to further their education and career.
