The training program offered at North Coast Flight School is a roughly two-year program that combines classroom and practical learning. Students learn the theoretical concepts of aerodynamics and Aviation through instructional courses in a classroom setting, and learn to apply these theories and concepts in the air with supervised flying in a Cessna plane. The licensure program involves more than 50 hours of monitored and solo flying time, and students fly an average of twice a week throughout the two year program to develop and sharpen skills gradually.

The flying component of this program at North Coast Flight School requires solo and supervised flying, cross country, night, and instrument-guided flying. The program is designed to ease students into each component, and provides the proper classroom training and education before each type of flying.
