North Georgia Technical College is a professional technical school located with the main campus in Clarkesville, Georgia. The college has two other satellite campuses located in Blairsville and Currahee, Georgia. The main campus in Clarkesville was originally the location of the Georgia Ninth District School of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts, which was founded in 1907. During the Great Depression, the campus served as Habersham College and the National Youth Administration, one of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's programs. In 1943, the campus was converted to a professional trade school then named North Georgia Trade and Vocational School. In 2000, the school adopted its current name of North Georgia Technical College.

The Clarkesville campus is situated on 40 acres just 90 miles northeast of Atlanta. The 45,000-square-foot facility in Blairsville sits on 25 acres with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. That campus was dedicated in 1998. In 2005, the 45,000 square foot campus in Currahee began offering classes to students as well. Students may choose from a variety of programs of study, which will lead them to a certificate; diploma or an associate degree. There are more than one dozen programs in the medical fields of study; over two dozen in business and computer fields; and 30 in the technical and industrial fields of study.

Prospective students wishing to enroll at North Georgia technical College must have a high school diploma or GED; must complete a Compass exam, or have SAT or ACT exam scores. Students who have attended other colleges or universities must also provide a transcript from those schools. Students who are completing their high school education may enroll concurrently at the school. Students who need to complete their high school education may enroll in GED preparation classes at North Georgia Technical College. There is on campus housing available on the main campus of North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville. The campus also has a number of sports facilities that include: gymnasium; weight room; swimming pool; a softball field; tennis courts; badminton court; horseshoe pit; sand volleyball court; and a multi-purpose field.
