Overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, North Greenville University gives students a chance to further their education and lead a
Christian lifestyle. Students and faculty at this
South Carolina university all follow North Greenville University's motto, "Christ Makes the Difference."
Supported by the South Carolina Baptist Convention, about 2,000 students attend thisprivate, four-year
liberal arts university. In the early 1900s, North Greenville University was the site for North Greenville
high school, one of the few high schools in the county at the time. North Greenville University is about 20 miles north from South Carolina's largest metropolitan city, Greenville.
Students can explore a variety of academic divisions, such as the College of
business, College of Christian Studies, College of Education, College of Fine Arts, College of Humanities, and the College of Science and Mathematics. There's a plethora of religious-based classes, such as youth ministry, media ministry, and church music. A popular program at North Greenville University is the Intercultural Studies Program, which is within the College of Christian Studies. Students involved in this program concentrate on studying the Bible, history, and theology. The Intercultural Studies program also delves into mission work and communicating with people of other cultures about the Gospel.
Nicknamed the "Crusaders," sports also play a part in campus life. The mission of North Greenville University's athletic foundation is "to support our student-athletes through scholarships, leadership, encouragement, and equip them with Godly and moral character." North Greenville University is an NCAA Division II school. Younts Stadium can seat up to 5,000 spectators. Men's sports include football, baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and tennis. Women athletes can play basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, and cheerleading.
