Technical College is a professional technical school located in Acworth, Georgia. Located just 30 miles north of Atlanta, North Metro Technical College offers a wide variety of programs leading students to a certificate, diploma or associate degree. Located on over 50 acres of the former site of Stivers Farm, the planning began for North Metro Technical College in the 1970s. However, the land was not purchased for the school until the 1980s and the 140,000-square-foot school opened its doors in 1989. North Metro Technical College serves residents in the counties of Cherokee; Bartow; Cobb; and Paulding.
More than 5,000 students enroll in credit course, industry and continuing education courses at North Metro Technical College each year. Programs of study at North Metro Technical College include: accounting;

Prospective students wishing to enroll at North Metro Technical College must have a
high school diploma or GED; must complete a Compass exam, or have SAT or ACT exam scores. Students who have attended other colleges or universities must also provide a transcript from those schools. Students who are completing their high school education may enroll concurrently at the school. Students who need to complete their high school education may enroll in GED preparation classes at North Metro Technical College. Students at North Metro Technical College have access to the library located on campus as well as a wide variety of search systems with the online library.
