Conceived of in 1983 and opening its doors in 1985, Northeast Texas community college has dedicated more than 20 years to service to the community. Today this Texas College has six locations throughout the state: the Main Campus in Mount Pleasant, Hanson-Sewell in Pittsburg, Naples-Omaha Center in Naples, Mt. Pleasant Downtown in Mt. Pleasant, Truck Driving School in Hughes Springs, and the Adult Education Center in SouthLone Star.

As an accredited two-year institution of higher learning, the school strives to meet the vast and varied needs of a diverse student body. Northeast Texas community college students who wish to one day apply their credits to a traditional four-year college or university, will find themselves at home in transfer programs that provide the equivalent of the freshman and sophomore years of a bachelor's degree program. Students who are interested in a fast and efficient entry into the workforce will find the business and industry training that suits the needs of their intended field. In order to further meet the needs of the student body, Northeast Texas Community College offers flexible and accessible class scheduling. Classes are offered during the day and night, as well as in the summertime.
