When the school opened in 2002, about 1,000 students enrolled at Northeastern State University's Broken Arrow campus. Since then, the campus and student population of this Oklahoma school has continued to expand tremendously.

The first phase of the campus included an administration building, a maintenance facility, and two classroom buildings. But, with plans for a $26 million expansion in 2004, the campus has expanded by 300,000 square feet and also created room for an additional 5,000 students with construction of a science, library, and classroom building. One building has 22 classrooms with five brand-new laboratories.

Northeastern state university - Broken Arrow is the only public four-year university in the surrounding area that offers more than 25 undergraduate degrees and over 10 graduate degrees. A sampling of undergraduate degrees: accounting, biology, English, marketing, safety management, social work, and technology. Northeastern State University was founded in 1851 as the original Cherokee National Female seminary and has two campuses located in Tahlequah and Muskogee.

The Office of Career Services prepares students to start their career after graduation. Serving students on all three campuses, the center gives students a chance to attend career fairs and invites different companies to come on campuses to interview students. The Office of Career Services also sponsors several training seminars and workshops for students about interviewing and the job market.

The Office of Student Affairs works to give students a way to step out of the classroom and meet students with similar interests. Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow offers a variety of clubs, such as the Multicultural Student Coalition, Psychology Club, Social Work Club and Finance Club as a way for students to connect to others.

  • Located on campus, the clock tower is a 114-foot, free-standing structure.
