As a comprehensive institution of higher learning Northern New Mexico college has been authorized to award both two- and four-year degrees to who students who attend and successfully fulfill their academic requirements. Aspiring students can choose from nearly 70 different certificate, associate degree, and bachelor's degree programs.

With its beautiful Espanola campus that spans 30 acres, Northern New Mexico College has grown into a community college that offers students the best in modern equipment and knowledge. The college's $1.8 million High Tech Manufacturing Training Facility, for example, boasts such amenities as a robotics lab, multipurpose lab, and clean room.

Northern New Mexico College also consists of the El Rito campus, located a mere half an hour from the Espanola campus. Unlike the more technology-oriented Espanola campus, the El Rito campus focuses on immersing its students in the culture and heritage of the region. With courses in such subjects as Adobe construction, Spanish Colonial Furniture Making, and Spanish Colonial Woodworking, it's easy for students to gain a hands-on understanding and appreciation of the legacy of Northern New Mexico's native cultures.

Various programs within Northern New Mexico College have been approved by accrediting bodies such as the Joint Review Committee on Education and Radiologic Technology and the Association of Collegiate business Schools and Programs.

Northern New Mexico College is also a member the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.

Students who cannot attend class on either campus may instead opt for Northern New Mexico's distance education courses.
