Since 1969, Northwest Aviation College has been providing quality aviation training to future aviation professionals. All courses are designed to provide students state-of-the-art training and certification and prepare them to work for commercial and private carriers. Northwest Aviation College offers a number of degree and non-degree programs designed for each type of aviation student and aviation professional. Degree programs include an Associate in Applied Science in Aviation Flight technology as well as three specific programs leading to certification as a certified flight instructor, a certified flight instructor with an instrument specification, and an airline transport pilot.

The instructor certification program is a one- to two-year course of study incorporating advanced courses in ground technology, commercial and private piloting, instrument, and multi-engine piloting. Classes and instruction are offered on a part time or full time basis. Similarly, the flight instructor program with an instrument certification requires 50 credits and an extra semester of study. The third certificate degree program offered at this aviation school in Washington is very unique. It combines more than 100 credits of traditional aviation training, in addition to courses in aviation safety, taxi operations, and air carrier operations, as well as an internship. Through the internship at Northwest Aviation College, students gain valuable hands-on training that fully prepares them to work as airline transport pilots. All programs are designed to provide the appropriate training for students to be hired by aviation companies around the world that meet the FAA's requirements.

The associate degree in Applied Science is a two-year program that combines general requirement aviation courses that serve as the foundation of the degree, plus 20 credits of elective courses. The structure of the program allows students to develop their degree according to personal and professional interests.
