Tracing its history back to Northwest Mississippi Junior College's founding in 1928, Northwest Mississippi
community college has been serving the community in some shape or form for nearly a century. Since its days as a modest junior college with only 59 students, this
Mississippi College now boasts more than 6,500 students and has continued to grow and expand in order to better serve the community.
Today Northwest Mississippi
Community College -- now comprised of one regional campus and two local centers -- offers students the opportunity to earn career certificates and associate degrees in a multitude of subjects. From courses in child development technology,
business administration, computer science, technical mathematics, and civil technology, to classes in art,
Graphic Design technology, English, psychology, and speech and theatre, there's a subject to please all types of students.
Students whose schedules or transportation difficulties prevent them from attending regularly scheduled classes will be pleased to know that this Mississippi college provides alternatives. Not only may students choose to enroll in courses schedule for the evenings, they can also select distance learning courses that allow them to learn from the comforts of their home or office.
