Idaho College's vision statement is a "place where students are prepared to be global Christians through academic excellence, social responsiveness and creative engagement." Northwest Nazarene College is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene.
Founded in 1913, Northwest Nazarene College offers more than 25 undergraduate majors and master's programs in seven disciplines. There approximately 1,200 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students who attend Northwest Nazarene College. The average class size is about 18 students and over 60 areas of study are offered to students. These schools include: School of Arts,
humanities and Social Sciences; School of
business; School of Education, Social Work, and Counseling; School of Health and Science; School of
theology and Christian Ministries.
Ministry clubs on campus are popular. Skaters in Christ is a ministry to kids that enjoy skateboarding. There's also ministry work geared for underprivileged children and ministries dedicated to mentally disabled adults and children. Besides ministry work, students can participate in the Ultimate Frisbee Club, Chemistry Club, and Psychology Club. The award-winning SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) competes at a national level annually.
The campus is located in a serene, park-like setting on 85 acres of land. Nampa (pop. 80,000), is right in the heart of Treasure Valley and 15 miles from Boise. Nature lovers will enjoy the nearby Sun Valley ski resort, the Snake River, Snake River Canyon, and Bogus Basin ski resort. The campus has more than 30 buildings, which include seven residence halls and apartment complexes, sports fields, tennis courts, and an Olympic-size track.

Northwest Nazarene College is a member of the NCAA Division II, Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Teams play in basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, golf, track and field, cross country, and soccer.
U.S. News and World Report ranked NNC as a best value university and Princeton Review said it was one of the top universities in the West.
Students can also study off-campus, with the Honours Programme, Oxford; the Los Angeles Film Studies Center; the Contemporary Music Program; and the Latin-American Studies Program.
