Located in Alabama, Northwest-Shoals Community College is a two-year institution of higher learning that serves the counties of Colbert, Franklin, Lauderale, and Lawrence, as well as the western portion of Winston county. Originally founded as Northwest Alabama State Junior College in 1966, the Phil Campbell campus of Northwest-Shoals community college evolved into the Community College it is today through a series of mergers with schools like the Northwest Alabama State Technical College.
