Northwestern College of Iowa is a four-year Christian
liberal arts college. The most popular majors at this Iowa college are
business, education biology, religion, and kinesiology. Students can earn their bachelor's degree in more than 40 fields and 16 pre-professional programs. Affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, faith plays a large role for students attending Northwestern College of Iowa. Besides weekly worship, there are also opportunities to participate in Bible studies, service projects, and retreats.

Students are encouraged to participate in events and programs at the Career Development Center. The staff is trained to guide students with their major, prepare them for graduate school, and give them the opportunity for internships or study abroad opportunities. The Center also offers help with searching for jobs, along with developing cover letters and resumes. Approximately 93 percent of students find employment or enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduation.
Northwestern College of Iowa is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Approximately 25 percent of students participate in intramural sports. Students can choose to participate in a wide variety of clubs, from the Multicultural Awareness Club to political groups.
There's a variety of off-campus study programs, including American Studies Program in Washington, D.C.;
AU Sable Institute in Michigan and four other sites;
Chicago Semester; Contemporary Music Center on Martha's Vineyard; Creation Care Study Program; Los Angeles Film Studies Center in California; and Summer Institute of Journalism in Washington, D.C.
