Students can major in anything from biology to business; chemistry to mathematics; or education to English. Bachelor's degrees are awarded in more than 25 disciplines. There are also several self-designed major programs and interdisciplinary programs. Notre Dame College prides itself on programs in science, business, and education.

In January 2001, Notre Dame College admitted men into the college. With the new students, varsity sports for men were also added, including basketball, cross-country, soccer, and tennis. Women can play all these sports, along with volleyball and softball. Notre Dame College is a member of the American Mideast Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities at Notre Dame College. There are more than 20 different clubs and organizations, ranging from academic to recreation. The Campus Activities Office sponsors several social programs, cultural events, and holiday programs. This office works together with the Undergraduate Student Government to plan a lot of campus events, such as Save the Squirrels and Earth Day. Another part of campus life is the biannual Open Forums, which allows students to ask questions to senior College officials.

The central core to spiritual life is the Campus Ministry. Small group sessions give people the chance to connect with each other through Bible studies, discussions, prayer times, and films. The name of the Campus Ministry's service initiative is FalconCorps. This gives students a chance to participate in social justice events, service, and improve leadership skills. Some of these programs include the Ronald McDonald House, Cleveland Catholic Worker, and Habitat for Humanity. The Harig Endowed Internship gives students a chance to be mentored in Campus Ministry and given a compensation amount each semester.

Students will get personal attention inside and outside of the classroom. The Dwyer Learning Center was created to help students with their homework and studying for exams. For no cost, peer tutors assist students with their studies and are familiar with proper training techniques. In addition, The First Year Institute is an orientation program that helps freshmen transition to college. This is held during the first semester and creates a small-group experience for students. Students meet with faculty and staff mentors on a regular basis to figure out how to achieve academically and on a social level.
