Oak Hills Christian college began as Oak Hills Christian Training School in 1946 and today more than 175 students attend this Minnesota college. The lakeside campus is not affiliated with one particular denomination. The college was founded to primarily serve the people of northern Minnesota and many students find time to enjoy the scenery of the woods and fishing.

The mission for Oak Hills Christian College is: "In vital partnership with local churches, we exist to bring the people of our region and world to new life and maturity in Christ."

Each academic program includes coursework for three areas: Biblical Studies, Christian Ministries, and General Education. There's a variety of Bachelor degree programs that include Biblical Studies, Biblical Studies and Applied Studies, Biblical Studies and Applied Psychology, Biblical Studies and Camp Ministry, Biblical Studies and Christian Ministry, Biblical Studies and Intercultural Studies, Biblical Studies and Pastoral Ministry, Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry, and Biblical Studies and Worship Arts. Oak Hills Christian college also offers Associate Degrees and a one-year Certificate option in Biblical Studies.

Students stay active by participating in a variety of outreach programs. Some of these ministry opportunities include assisting in children's clubs, ministry, and volunteering at Sunday school programs. Faculty and staff want students to succeed after graduation. The Career Center was created to help students gain internships and full-time employment opportunities. The Career Center offers students a chance to connect with local employers and the community. The Career Center also has career assessment tools to help students find a career that fits their personality.
