a Paul Mitchell Partner School, the Ohio Academy is a Cosmetology school that offers two locations in Ohio: Twinsburg and Columbus. The Ohio cosmetology school trains students to become salon and spa professionals. The courses are designed to train students with all the skills and knowledge they need to pass the Ohio state board examinations.

Ohio Academy offers a cosmetology training program that leads to a managing cosmetologist license. The program is broken in two sections. Students at the Ohio cosmetology school receive 1,500 hours of basic cosmetology and 300 hours of managing cosmetology. The program can be taken on a full-time or part-time basis. For students who choose the full-time program, they will complete the program in 51 weeks. Students at Ohio Academy who choose the part-time program will finish in 90 weeks.

Daytime classes at Ohio Academy start every seven weeks. For the evening classes, new classes are offered every 24 weeks. Students at the Paul Mitchell Partner School are also given networking opportunities through the guest speaker program. In addition, career development classes are also offered. Many of the students at the Ohio cosmetology school find employment even before the program is completed.

During the first seven weeks of the full-time, daytime program at Ohio Academy, students learn the basic fundamentals of hair cutting and styling. At the end of this period, students are qualified to work with real clients in the salon. After the seven weeks, students spend half of their time in class and the rest working with actual clients.

In order to make the program affordable, Ohio Academy offers payment options for students, such as a loan program through Sallie Mae Financial.

The cosmetology program at Ohio Academy is structured in three phases: core, adaptive and creative. During the core phase, students learn the fundamentals. At the adaptive stage, students learn time management, successful communication skills and the business of retailing. The final state, creative, teaches more advanced hairdressing techniques.
