Oklahoma State University Center for Health Services is located near the west bank of the Arkansas River, close to downtown Tulsa. On the 16-acre campus, this
Oklahoma school has four modern buildings that house classrooms, teaching laboratories, and research areas.
Classes are kept to 88 students per year. This small environment gives students a chance to form a strong relationship with faculty and staff. There are about 400 employees and about 100 full-time faculty members involved in clinical and basic sciences. The school is governed through Oklahoma State University by a nine-member Board of Regents for Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges.
The total enrollment is around 340 students, with approximately 89 percent of students hailing from Oklahoma. Most students who come to the school enter
medical school after finishing a pre-med bachelor's degree program. The curriculum is based on hands-on learning experiences and problem solving approaches.
The Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences offers a variety of student-organized speakers and programs, including
The American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians and the International Medicine Club. There's also the Student Osteopathic Association of Radiology and the OSU Political Action Committee.
After graduation, new students complete a one-year internship before entering residency programs. The college is connected with internship programs throughout Oklahoma and Arkansas. The two-year family practice residency has 18 approved positions, from the Sapulpa Indian Health Center to Tulsa Regional
Medical Center.
There are approximately 2,200 alumni. Most graduates are primary care physicians, including family practice, general internal medicine, and pediatrics. About 10 percent of graduates have specialties ranging from dermatology to gastroenterology. There are also active military physicians.
