The
Ontario College of Art & Design has a distinguished history shaped by many of
canada's leading artists. The college is located in the heart of Toronto, providing students with access to the largest concentration of art galleries in Canada. Toronto is also the center of Ontario's design industry, the third largest design industry in North America.
OCAD faculty includes leading art and design practitioners and scholars. The
education program combines liberal studies with a comprehensive studio program, allowing students an in-depth knowledge of the history and theory of visual culture, in addition to studio experience.
The Ontario College of Art & Design is active in the community, participating in cultural activities and collaborating with industrial partners. OCAD supports a vibrant community life, offering special events and lectures, a variety of exhibition venues, visiting artists-in-residence programs and informal gatherings that help students gain experience the contemporary art and design worlds. In addition, The Ontario College of Art & Design continues to partner with industries, cultural organizations and other educational institutions in research endeavours.

Enrollment at The Ontario College of Art & Design is just over 2,550 for full-time undergraduates and 900 for part-time undergraduates, with international students numbering around 180, female students around 1,600, and males around 900.
OCAD has a Mobility/Exchange Program, enabling full-time third-year students to spend a semester at one of OCAD's partner institutions abroad.
