Technical College is a professional technical college located in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Founded in 1968 to meet the growing needs of students in the area to receive adequate technical training, Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College was originally known as the Orangeburg-Calhoun Area Commission for Technical Education. The name was changed in 1974 to better describe the college's mission. The campus is located on what was once a diary farm.
Today, more than 2,500 students enroll at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College each year. Students may choose certificate, diploma or associate degree programs. The associate degree programs include: accounting; general
business; administrative office technology; computer technology; computer electronics; electronic instrumentation;
nursing; medical laboratory technology; radiologic technology; respiratory care technology;
automotive technology; industrial electronics technology; machine tool technology; general technology; criminal justice; early childhood education; and paralegal/legal assistant. The diploma programs include: administrative support; medical office assisting; early childhood development; and practical nursing.
Additionally, there are over 35 certificate programs at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, which include: advanced automotive systems repair; basic accounting; basic diesel maintenance; computed tomography; computer aided design; database; early childhood development; electrical systems repair; cardiac monitoring; engine and break repair; forensics; general radiologic technology; general studies; health careers preparation; ignition and fuel systems repair; industrial maintenance; infant/toddler development; internetworking; introductory civil

Prospective students wishing to enroll at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College must have a
high school diploma or GED; and have SAT or ACT exam scores. Students who have attended other colleges or universities must also provide a transcript from those schools. Students who are completing their high school education may enroll concurrently at the school. There is no on-campus housing at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, but the school may be able to assist students in directing them to affordable housing in the area.
