The OxBow School, founded in 1997, is an accredited boarding school that offers visual arts programs to high school juniors and seniors who are passionate about making art. Oxbow offers the nation's only semester program that combines high-level instruction in the visual arts with academic subjects, all taught in an interdisciplinary, college-style environment. OxBow also offers summer programs for adults. The 16-week semester long program at OxBow offers a variety of art related disciplines that combines an intensive exploration of art and art making with innovative and rigorous academic subjects. Art disciplines at OxBow include digital media, painting and printmaking more. The summer studio programs available at OxBow offer courses in areas such as printmaking, photography and more. The program is designed to fulfill high school requirements and prepare students for admission to college, university, art/design schools and other post-secondary pursuits.

The OxBow school is located the scenic city of Napa in Calif. The campus offers numerous state-of-the-art facilities and more than 14 buildings accessible to students. Among them are studios, dormitories, campus gardens and more. Students can also take advantage of the numerous recreational activities offered at the OxBow School. Among them are yoga, gardening, biking, team sports and more. Through the OxBow semester art program, students will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by participating in visiting artist projects.

In addition to the numerous activities offered on campus at Oxbow, students can also enjoy the historical, recreational and cultural attractions in the city of Napa. Napa is home to scenic landscapes, numerous ethnic restaurants, museums and more. Students can enjoy attractions such as the Napa Valley Museum, the Scientopia Discovery Center, the Napa River and more. Napa is also within close proximity to beaches, the city of San Francisco, Berkeley and more.
