As a comprehensive two-year institution of higher learning, Ozarks Technical
community college has been providing the community of Springfield with educational opportunities it needs, for nearly 20 years. With a strong emphasis on instructing students in the technical fields, this Missouri
Community College offers one-year certificate programs, and two-year associate of arts and associate of applied science degree programs.
Although the school originally opened its doors to only 1,198 credit students, enrollment has increased by at least 9,000 as of the autumn of 2007. To accommodate these students, Ozarks Technical
Community College has grown to encompass a main campus -- located on 40 acres in Springfield -- and three regional centers throughout the state. A new campus in Richwood Valley is opened in early 2007, and boasts such features as the Life Science Technology Center, student café, and full-service student services facility.
Over the years various programs within this Missouri college have been approved by outside institutions. For example, the American Dental Association, Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, and Missouri State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, have expressed their approval and or accreditation for relevant programs offered by Ozarks Technical
Community College.

Thanks to this Missouri college's dual credit program, qualified high school students may enroll in Ozarks Technical Community College's courses at their own school. These courses grant both college and high school credit.
