Founded over 60 years ago, Paul Smith's College offers a wide variety of associate degree programs, as well as undergraduate programs in disciplines including hospitality, Culinary Arts, business and forestry.

Located in the Adirondack region, the college campus is located on 14,200 acres of the 6-million-acre Adirondack Park and close to the resort community of Lake Placid. This locale of natural wonders provides students with a working research laboratory in ecology, biology, environmental science, natural resource management, forestry and fish and wildlife management.

Equally renowned for its hospitality and culinary arts program, the campus offers on-site learning laboratories for these students at the Wally Ganzi, Jr., '63 Training Restaurant and the St. Regis Cafe. Paul Smith's College offers an Associate Degree in hotel and restaurant management and a Bachelor's degree in hotel, resort and tourism management.

As well as an infinite educational opportunity for students who want to study natural resources and hospitality, the area provides plenty of recreational activities, including skiing, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, rock climbing, white water rafting and other outdoor sports. Paul Smith's College helps students become actively involved in a healthy lifestyle by offering the "Adirondack Experience." This program provides all incoming students an opportunity to participate in these outdoor adventures over a 4-day course. Outdoor Life Magazine ranked Paul Smith's College as one of the top 10 schools in the country for students who are interested in hunting and fishing.

The college has over 10 residency halls, both on and off campus. Most of the academic disciplines also offer clubs and activities related to student's chosen degree of study. These clubs include the junior chapter of the Junior American Culinary Federation, Society of American Foresters, Urban Tree Management Club, Students for Environmental Action, and the Surveying Club.
