Pikeville college is a four-year liberal arts institution offering a comprehensive array of academic programs. Pikeville College was founded in 1889 and offers associate and Baccalaureate programs as well as a professional program. Some of the undergraduate programs of study include political science, art, biology, criminal justice and others.

Pikeville College is located in on a scenic campus in the town of Pikeville, Kentucky. There are numerous state-of-the-art facilities for students to take advantage of including the Frank M. Allara Library. The library offers students access to numerous electronic journals, a variety of reference materials, more than 15,000 print journals and much more. Other facilities include the Armington Science Learning Center, the Pikeville College Osteopathic Telemedical Center and others.

In addition to the academic program at Pikeville College, students can take advantage of numerous recreational activities. The athletics program is a member of the NAIA Division I, Region XI, Mid-South Conference and offers varsity sports programs for both men and women. Some of the sports programs include basketball, men's soccer, cross country, softball and others. Additionally, students can get involved with the numerous clubs and organizations. Some include the Pikeville Concert Choir, The Outdoor Adventure Club, the Social Science Club, the Psychology Club and many others.

Not only can students take advantage of on campus activities and Pikeville College, but off campus activities well. Pikeville, located in Pike County is nestled within the mountains and has been rated among the "top 100 best small towns in America in the publication The 100 Best Small Towns in America," by Norm Crampton. The town offers numerous recreational activities including festivals such as the Bluegrass Extravaganza, the old Time Music Festival and more. Also in the area, students can gain access to a variety of restaurants and shops.
