Washington D.C.'s Potomac Massage Training Institute has been providing professional training in massage therapy to students in the District of Columbia, Va. and Md. for more than three decades. Potomac is a pioneer in massage therapy education and instruction, and many of its graduates have served as leaders in the massage therapy community, having held positions in organizations such as the American massage therapy Association and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Potomac's 600-hour professional training program covers Swedish massage and deep tissue techniques. Soft-tissue modalities, movement modalities and energy modalities are also covered. Potomac Institute students typically attend two, three and a half hour classes each week, one academic and the other practical. Clinics, fieldwork and weekend courses are also required. PMTI offers its alumni a wide range of services including career assistance, referrals and job directory, business skills seminars and skills enhancement workshops.
