Located in the heart of the San Juan metropolitan area , the Conservatorio de Musica de Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico conservatory of music) is a public higher learning institution dedicated to developing musicians in the fields of classical and jazz performance, music composition, and music education.

The Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music is committed to preserving the musical heritages of Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and Latin America, while maintaining awareness of current international musical trends and stimulating innovative thinking within the institutional environment.

An array of program offerings at the Conservatory provides students with opportunities to reach their educational and professional goals.

The Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music is the only institution in Puerto Rico that awards the professional Music degree.

Program offerings at the undergraduate level include Bachelor of Music majors in Performance (voice, guitar, piano, orchestral instruments), Jazz and Caribbean Music Performance, Composition, and Music Education.

At the graduate level, offerings include Graduate Performance Diploma and Master of Music in Music Education. Non-degree granting programs at the Conservatory include continuing education and Teacher Certification.

The Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music is one of the most important academic and cultural institutions in the Caribbean and all of Latin America.

  • Students are admitted to the Conservatory based on the results of auditions and/or exams required by the major area.

  • The Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music's financial aid program provides students with financial assistance according to each student's financial needs and the availability of funds.

  • The Conservatory collaborates with the University of the Sacred Heart to offer students the opportunity to combine music studies with business and marketing courses. This provides the musician with the professional skills needed to succeed in the job market.
