Purdue University - Aviation offers comprehensive training programs in aviation engineering technology, aviation management and professional flight technology. Students at this Indiana School learn about all aspects of the aerospace industry, from aircraft construction and repair to airline and airport management. More than 600 students are enrolled in the program at Purdue, which was established more than 60 years ago. Purdue has more than 30 dedicated faculty with years of professional experience, and a variety of facilities and resources, including a fleet of aircraft and numerous research laboratories.

Purdue University - Aviation offers both Associate's and Bachelor's degrees in aviation management, aeronautical engineering technology and flight. Graduates of Purdue programs are prepared for careers with airlines, airports, corporate aviation firms, government agencies, aerospace manufacturers and more. The placement rate for graduates of Purdue University - Aviation is generally quite high, and the department has a range of partnerships that provide for student internship and co-op opportunities. Purdue-University - Aviation also offers five minor concentrations for students enrolled in other divisions of the university who wish to add a background in aviation technology to their course of study. Class sizes in the professional flight technology program are limited and admission to the program is academically competitive. Students who enroll in this course of study must have a valid Federal Aviation Medical (obtained from a specially certified Aviation Medical Examiner) and a student pilot certificate. Incoming students in the professional flight technology program are encouraged to obtain a First Class FAA medical and student pilot certificate, which will allow them to eventually pursue a career in commercial aviation.

Facilities at Purdue University - Aviation include a number of laboratories and research facilities, including an airport terminal facility, Falcon Jet Avionics Simulator, electrical lab, turbine engine test cells and a Holleman-Niswonger Simulator Facility. Students enrolled in programs at Purdue University-Aviation train on a variety of aircraft, including a Cessna 182, Piper Arrow, Piper Seminole, Raytheon Beechjet 400A, ACA Super Decathalon, and Boeing 727 and Boeing 737 static trainers. Purdue University - Aviation offers overseas study opportunities for students who wish to pursue a portion of their education abroad. These include for-credit, overseas courses in aviation technology, faculty-led study trips and study abroad programs. Aviation-specific study abroad programs are available. Undergraduate degree programs at Purdue University - Aviation are accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI).
