Since 1966, Radford University School of nursing has been providing education to students who hope to pursue a career in nursing. Radford's motto, "blending knowledge with caring," reflects the educational experience for students, who study all aspects of the science of nursing, from nurse midwifery to family nursing.

Radford University School of Nursing offers accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing and dietetics. Radford undergraduates can earn B.S.N. or R.N.-B.S.N. degrees, while graduate students earn M.S.N. and R.N.-B.S.N.-M.S.N. degrees. Students in the graduate program can concentrate in gerontology, adult clinical nursing, family nursing and nurse midwifery. Radford University also has a foods and nutrition curriculum, offering undergraduates concentration options in dietetics or food service management. More than 60 students are enrolled in the program. About 400 are pursuing degrees at Radford University School of Nursing at any given time. Overall, more that 2,000 students have graduated from the school since it was established, and those alumni can be found working in health care settings around the world.

All instructors at Radford University School of Nursing have advanced degrees and clinical certifications, and are eager to share their knowledge with students. During their studies, Radford University students have the chance to work in a wide array of environments and with diverse groups of patients. This training effectively prepares them to practice in real-world health care settings. The school's graduate nursing programs offers specialized training to prepare students for jobs as family nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists. Radford University School of Nursing is a Partner in Nursing Education for the Army ROTC program, which trains future military nurses. Students in this program work in the school's clinical simulation center. The school also has partnerships with a variety of health care systems across Virginia, which allows students to work with a cross-section of professionals. Radford University School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and the American Dietetic Association. The campus is located about 50 miles west of Roanoke, Virginia between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains.
